It's time to celebrate nature! On May 4th, the streets of Funchal are the stage for a parade made up of hundreds of children with fabulous allegorical floats all covered with natural flowers. It's a unique event!
On the eve of the floral parade, thousands of children gather in the Praça do Município, where they will each place a flower to build the so-called "Wall of Hope", and where doves will be released in a call for world peace.
Flower exhibits and musical shows celebrate this feast dedicated to flowers and certainly one of the strongest tourist calling cards of the island.
