About Rafael Kyrychenko...
Born in São Miguel, Azores, Rafael Kyrychenko began his piano studies at the age of 5 with his mother, Cristina Pliousnina. He won his first international competition at the age of 8 at the IV Vila de Capdepera International Competition in Palma de Mallorca. Over the years, he has achieved 1st and 2nd prizes in international competitions across Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Estonia, the USA, and more. Highlights include 1st prize at the 4th Aarhus International Piano Competition (Denmark) and the Gold Prize at the Manhattan International Music Competition (USA).
Rafael has performed in prestigious venues such as the Gulbenkian Foundation, the CCB, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, and the Palau de la Música Catalana. He has collaborated with conductors such as Rui Massena, Andris Poga, and Philippe Entremont. Rafael studied at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel with Maria João Pires, earned his degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under Daniel Blumenthal, and is currently pursuing his studies at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid with Milana Chernyavska.
