There are various large shopping centres in different parts of the city. For example, Shopping Rio Sul in Botafogo, Shopping Leblon in the chic Leblon neighbourhood, and Barra Shopping, one of the largest in Latin America, in Barra da Tijuca. 

You can also opt for the street markets in the city. The most popular are: Feira Hippy market in Ipanema, on Sundays in Praça General Osório; the Feira do Rio Antigo, the antiques fair on the first Saturday of the month in Lapa district; the Saara Onze Quarteirões, in the centre of Rio, between Rua Uruguaiana and Avenida Presidente Vargas.
