COPACABANA

Portuguese cobblestones on the Avenida Atlântica, the sea and the sand. This is Copacabana, the best known beach in all of Rio de Janeiro which stretches for 4.15 km. 

Frequented both by day and night, the beach has kiosks, a cycle lane, lifeguard posts with showers and toilets, hotels - including the PortoBay Rio de Janeiro - bars and restaurants. 

The beach and its promenade are a veritable institution in city life. There are also two Military Forts, one at each end, which are open to the public. 
Copacabana hosts many of the city's main events, notably one of the most exciting New Year's Eve parties in the World!
