Located under one hour from Búzios, running through the Rio highlands, is a place where nature remains almost untouched - Sana. Its wild appearance and warm climate draws young adventurers and neo-hippies to its trails. They find clean waterfalls, Atlantic coastal forest paths and green open hills, a vestige of old agricultural estates. An ecological tour through the Sana mountains includes waterfalls and water slides in crystal clear waters, surrounded by virgin vegetation.
Explore the Water Circuit, a ‘natural water park’ formed by the Sete Quedas Waterfall, Cachoeira-Mãe, Cachoeira-Pai and Cachoeira-Filho, and the Escorrega Waterfall which forms part of the River Peito de Pombo waterfalls. To get there you must set aside a day, and access is only permitted when accompanied by a guide. The maximum number of people per group is 15. Contact the Pequena Semente Ecological Defence Group.
It takes three hours to go up and two hours to come down, on average. The views are unforgettable, because from the summit you can see the coast of Macaé, Cabo Frio, Búzios, Rio das Ostras and Barra de São João.
